How we work

Pilots are a mandatory port nautical service for vessels over 500GT. Our objective is to ensure the safety of the port, its facilities, the ship, the environment and, of course, human life.

We want to be a reference at a social and institutional level for a security and quality service provided by highly qualified professionals.

We work on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We advise the captains on board their vessels in their port calls, movements or departures. We coordinate with the rest of the nautical technical services and guarantee the safety of the vessels' maneuvering.

Pilot Manager integrated management system

Our integrated quality, environment and occupational health and safety policy has 2 main objectives.

  • 1

To satisfy not only our customers' requirements, but to anticipate their future needs.

  • 2

To guarantee, through continuous improvement, quality, safety, occupational health and safety, security and the environment in the course of our activities and in the performance of our services.

To achieve this, we have focused our efforts on 10 clear lines of action established in our integrated management system.

The Corporación de Prácticos del Puerto de Sagunto, which has been operating in the port for more than 30 years, is committed to a company policy of reducing GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions and has undertaken to take the necessary measures to reduce its CO2 emissions.

We understand that a reduction of our Carbon Footprint will also benefit the company.

Currently, we have achieved the first Carbon Footprint registration certificate for the year 2022.
